Juno I with Explorer 1 1:96 Paper Model Instructions Note: Match up all of the seams on this model for the best final look. 1. Begin by rolling part 1 into a tube. Use the former template to make two circles out of thin wood or cardstock. Glue one of them to the bottom of the tube but leave the top open. 2. Cut out and roll into tube part 3. Now glue the second circle to the top of this. Make sure that the circle is as flush as possible with the top of the rolled paper. 3. Cut out parts 2 and 13. Use part 13 to connect the two body tubes. Part 2 is wrapped around the larger body tube on top of the black line that is right beneath the two UE letterings. 4. Now cut out parts 5 and 6 (4 of each) and glue them each so that you have four solid black fins. I strongly reccommend using a black marker to color of the whiteness of the paper on the edges. It will greatly improve the final look. 5. Cut out part 9 (four pieces) and fold them each into a triangular prism. They are glued onto the four retangles on the upper (smaller) body tube with the larger side of the prism at the bottom. 5. Next cut out part 4 and roll it into a cone. Glue this on top of the small body tube. This is why I previously mentioned to keep the former circle flush with the top so that it is easier to glue the cone one. 6. Cut out part 7 and roll it into a cone. It is glued on top of the last cone which you attached to the body tube. 7. Now roll part 8 into a tube and then cut out part 14 (2 pieces) and glue one circle on each end of the tube. Leave this to dry for a few minutes. 8. Cut out parts 10, 11, and 12. 10 and 12 are glued into cones and 11 is a tube. You need to excersise extreme patience while handling these parts. You may need to take a break. IF YOU KEEP YOUR PATIENCE, THEN YOU WILL EVENTUALLY GET THESE TINY PARTS TO WORK. The end result and be very pleasing. Glue part 11 onto the cone of part 10. Then glue part 12 onto the top of part 11. Now, take this stack and glue it onto the cylinder that you just put asside to dry. It should be fine now. Glue the stack on top of the cylinder and then glue that whole setup onto the top of the nosecone of the rocket. Again, this step will require some patience in order to complete it properly. As always, line up the seams. Once you have done all of this, your model is complete.
